Palms Casino Resort, or simply called "Palms", is a hotel and casino resort located near the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is currently owned and operated by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and was originally owned by the Maloof family.
The hotel and casino complex has been a popular tourist destination many locals and young adults. It became popularized during the 2002 reality television series show "The Real World: Las Vegas", and has become a hot spot destination for celebrities. Built and opened in 2001, the 42-story hotel contains over 700 guest suites while the casino has over 94,000 square feet of gaming space. Palms Place, which is a condo-hotel high rise opened in 2008, while a Playboy Club in the Fantasy Tower opened in 2006, becoming the first such club to open in several decades.
Several art pieces are spread out throughout the resort. One notable yet controversial art piece is a 13-foot tiger shark triptych art piece, that has been divided into three separate tanks, designed by artist Damien Hirst, and is placed above the Unknown Bar. Another bar called Mr. Coco also has a vast collection of art pieces.
